When I purchased the book, I didn't realize it was fiction. I thought it was one man's newbie story about his first trip to Thailand. My mistake. Anyway, it was a really fun read for the first two thirds of the book. I thought this guy was making every newbie mistake ever. With each passing newbie mistake, I thought, "oh no, he's really going to do that". It was exciting and fast paced; and very well written. As a frequent traveler to Thailand, I found the characters amusing and interesting. His chance meeting in the beginning with Bob over breakfast was convienient, but I have been seated with others at a table when the cafe was busy; and it was always a good experience. By the time it got to the "abduction", I knew it was fiction. Over all, I'm happy with the book and it was really a fun read. I'd be happy to buy another book by this author, or even meet up with him for lunch sometime. Maybe at 'Kiss Food".Product details

The book was fast paced and fun, and I found myself rooting for Lou from the beginning. (probably because his colleagues were so nasty) I also liked the accuracy with which the author depicted the Thailand bar scene. I've been in Thailand a few times myself and everything I read rang true. Overall, a very entertaining read.
I really liked this adult-themed story; it was quite different from my usual genres. Author writes well, but could definitely use a proof-reader (spelling errors and missing words in sentences). Although annoying, it didn't take away from my enjoying the story.
Clever Title (I won't spoil the significance). Poor Lou the loser has everything going wrong for him--he's a nice, boring guy and everyone is out to screw him over. An unplanned and unexpected trip to exotic Thailand is really his awakening--as a man, and as a human. A very enjoyable read, poignant, sexy, and both dark and light at the same time. Well written and gripping--I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. It's a page turner. I'd love to meet the Lou that exists at the end of the book. No more Mister Boring.
